Sorry for the all caps, but wait about 10 minutes before updating because I hecked up.

Fixed! Probably a false alarm. If you are continuing to encounter problems, open the XKit Editor, click the Open button, select XKit Patches, paste the contents of this file into the editor, then click Save.

maskcomesundone asked:

Hi, first of all thanks so much for resurrecting xkit! Unfortunately, though, I've got a big issue. :( I'm using Firefox 39, and Xkit won't initialize until after the entire contents of a page have loaded, even gifs etc. Original Xkit took few seconds at most, so I'm not sure why it's different now. Unlike old xkit it also won't initialize if I stop the page load during image loading. Hopefully you might be able to help? My internet is slow, so new xkit is sadly unusable for me bc of this issue.

This was on my radar for a while and I am pleased to announce that it is fixed in the 7.6.6 release for Firefox. You can manually update here if it the automatic update hasn’t happened yet.

VFAQ for all the new people

Yes, you do need to uninstall old XKit before installing New XKit. I apologize if you are on Chrome as this will delete all of your data unless XCloud chooses today to work.

No, we do not have a build for Safari or iOS.

If you are having a problem with Editable Reblogs please confirm that you have the Rich text editor set as your default and have versions 7.6.5 of XKit, 1.0.8 of Editable Reblogs, and 3.1.2 of XKit Patches. Note that XKit Patches is only visible if you select “Show Internal Extensions” on the Advanced Settings section of the Other pane.

Finally, if you are still encountering issues, please include your browser and operating system versions in your report.

By the way, extension not working in incognito mode is not a bug, it's a feature, since browser has no way of telling which extensions would record data. A work around, (in chrome at least, dunno about firefox) that is going to settings, extensions, and clicking "allow in incognito". It looks like it works fine.

Not a thing in Firefox as far as I can tell, unfortunately. Posting for Chrome users.

codenamemorgana asked:

How do you force your Xkit to manually update the main extenstion. I am sitting at 7.6.2 and want to make it update to 7.6.3? Thank you for doing this for the Tumblr community, you are superstars.

new-xkit-extension answered:

Thank you for your kindness and diligence in updating! If you have Firefox, you can safely uninstall and reinstall the extension to force a version update. On Chrome, if there is an option to enable Developer Mode on the chrome://extensions page then you can click it and spam the Update Extensions Now button. Otherwise, pick a god and pray.

On Firefox, if you downloaded from the Addon Store previously (i.e., if you’re running New XKit and did NOT get your current version from github), you don’t even have to uninstall. It’ll overwrite for you.
