• Soft Refresh
  • v0.5.6: Perform a dark ritual to transform Soft Refreshed posts into real posts with real like buttons.
• Blacklist
  • v2.9.0: Preserve links in Blacklist. Blacklist now reads the links in posts. For example, add goo.gl* to your filters to eradicate 90% of spam spam spam spam spam spammity spam! Many thanks to community contributor PalanteJon for their work in producing this update.
• Hermes
  • v1.2.2: Fix performance issues and caption deletion. Hermes now unloads the images and media of each post once. It also does not delete each post’s caption. These provide 20% more speed per speed and 100% more caption per caption.
• Profiler
  • v1.2.2: Fix parsing error in Profiler. Profiler now actually works instead of displaying an error. Knowledge is power, especially when that knowledge is about blogs.
• One-Click Postage
  • v4.3.0: AlreadyReblogged now adds a checkmark to reblog icon. Like it says on the tin, adds a happy checkmark next to reblogged posts. Turns out that in some cases the green of a “reblogged” post was pretty hard to distinguish from the grey, especially for users with colorblindness. You’ve probably already seen this change already—there were a few pretty popular posts about it.
• Go-To-Dash
  • v1.2.1: Fix Go To Dash ‘View’ button. The “View” button was only 1px high, so we fixed this shortage by stealing some buttons from the Coraline set.
• Retags
  • v1.0.6: Add a new API key. For a few hours, Retags was completely broken and everyone was seeing 401 errors everywhere. Normally we’d say blame Tumblr, but to be honest we have no idea why the old API key stopped working.

Month in Review: December 11 - January 08

Happy New Year! Here’s the first set of updates for this year.

Bug Fixes

• Editable Reblogs v3.0.5: Temporarily disable ER on pages that don’t provide the information it needs to work. We’ll restore this when we’ve done some cleaning on our end, apologies!
• Find Inactives v0.3.1: This extension is now a polyglot and will work if your user interface language isn’t English.
• Glowing Follow v1.0.4: Made a variety of fixes, such as improving the short description, fixing iframe URL detection, and so on.
• Header Options v2.4.1: Unhide the post ribbon being hidden by the mobile scrolling header, and fix an issue with large screen sizes.
• Messaging Tweaks v1.5.1: Good news, the :+1: emoji now works! I would totally include it in this message if it didn’t ruin the formatting of this post.
• One-Click Postage v4.1.1: Fixed some weird overlay issues with the reblog icon as well as general code cleanup. Welp, there are fewer misspelled and commented out styles now.
• Pokés v0.7.1: Just small fixes here, like increasing the species font size and requesting fonts over HTTPS.
• Reblog Display Options v1.3.1: Remove border from new content if both border and remove new-content username are set.
• View On Dash v0.7.6: Handle chat posts. Yeah.
• XKit Preferences v7.2.0: If you’ve ever browsed Tumblr using a mobile device and tried to use the XKit control panel, you may have noticed that it didn’t stay on screen. Well, now it does! (As a properly-behaved preferences window should.)

New Features

• Messaging Tweaks v1.6.0: As requested, allow hiding of the send post paper plane button. We’ve also added hotkeys: Alt+[Down/Up Arrow] to hide or restore the chat.
• Pokés v0.7.0: There’s quite a few new features here! We’ve updated the interface, allowed people to nickname and release their Pokémon, and add a Pokémon font!
• XKit Preferences v7.3.0: Add a Christmas themed icon! I know it’s a bit late to announce this, but still. Oh, and make Gists distinguish between enabled and disabled extensions.

Changes in Review

• Editable Reblogs v3.0.6: Properly redirect after reblogging from a blog page.
• Add Pale Moon support: Yes, you’ve read that correctly. This is probably going to involve a lot of discussion around determining the amount of extra maintenance we need to do to make this happen.

Week in Review: December 04 - December 11

Before we get to the week in review, we’d like to remind you that FixMyPosts is not an official New XKit extension. Please refer all bug reports to its developer, thetimeisneveright. There have been a lot of people having problems with posts lacking formatting, posts being all in a line, posts having weird blockquotes, and posts having text content disappearing. All of these issues have been known to be caused by FixMyPosts! If you have FixMyPosts installed, try using Reblog Display Options instead—RDO is an official New XKit extension that, in its “nested” format, restores the formatting of your dashboard, and is supported by the New XKit Team.

Bug Fixes

• Anti-Capitalism v1.2.3: Don’t you hate video ads? We do too! Now you can block video ads so that you won’t be reminded about… whatever it is that’s going on in the world of capitalism.
• Go-To Dash v1.2.0: The new blog buttons were making a mess of everything! Guys, learn to clean up after yourselves. It’s a vital skill you’ll need as adults.
  
• One-Click Postage v4.1.10: Fixed the “Replace caption, not append” option so that it does exactly what it says on the tin, as well as fixed an issue with blog controls not working. Seriously, the mess on that one was so bad that it spilled onto other extensions!
  
• Outbox v0.9.8: Actually save messages when sending them from the dashboard or inbox.

New Features

• Find Inactives v0.3.0: Added an option to filter by blogs that haven’t been updated in a week.
• Pokés v0.4.1: Added a Pokémon counter so now you can figure out if you’ve really caught ‘em all. In addition, we fixed the yellow Floette sprite and some Pokémon display names.
  
• XCloud v1.1.0: If you ever wanted to bypass the 5 MB limit of uploading to XCloud, you can do it by importing and exporting locally. You’re welcome.

Changes in Review

• Find Inactives v0.3.1: Make it so that this extension doesn’t hang when the language isn’t English.
• Messaging Tweaks v1.5.0: If you don’t plan on sharing posts or just have a deep-seated fear/hatred of paper airplanes, you can hide it. I wonder if there’s a word for “fear of paper airplanes”?

Week in Review: November 27 - December 04

The holidays are steadily approaching, so we’d like to raise some hype by providing you the latest in bug fixes and features.

Bug Fixes

• Auto Tagger v0.6.7: Auto tags no longer stack on top of each other when creating new posts that require a URL or an upload. We had to straighten out the tags and lecture them about safety. One of the tags could get hurt!
• Blacklist v2.7.7: Added a missing word so that XKit doesn’t sound like it’s talking too fast on a phone with really bad reception.
• Header Options v2.4.0: The developer who made this change would like to preface this fix with a message: “I want you all to know that I feel personally victimized by Tumblr’s coding decisions, and would like to apologize for the sins I have committed herein.” In other news, this extension now acts friendlier on mobile devices.
• Limit People v0.2.3: Don’t hide all posts in the side window. That would, like, totally make this totally useless. Totally.
• Old Sidebar v1.1.2: Some of our extensions are just really mean, aren’t they? We’ve prevented Old Sidebar from crushing the crushes grid on the Following page.
• Soft Refresh v0.5.5: Clicking on the Tumblr logo now performs a soft refresh again. A gentler refresh. The lightest, most delicate refresh.

New Features

• Messaging Tweaks v1.4.0: A couple of things happened. First, this extension now only runs on pages where the messaging button exists. Second, we’ve added the option to remove usernames from messages so that it won’t be so cluttered.
• Pokés v0.3.0: Catch Pokémon on your dashboard!!11!!!1! In addition, we made Cosplay Pikachu all female, made clicking notifications bring you to the Bulbapedia, and provided optional backgrounds for Pokémon for those you who use Tumblr with your own custom themes. And before you ask: yes, we’ve heard you asking for a way to rename Pokémon and battle other people. Don’t worry, we have lots in store for you!
  
• Reblog Display Options v1.3.0: We heard you guys liked options, so we added two new ones: a reverse rainbow scheme and alternating backgrounds, which will lightly highlight reblogs in alternating gray and new comments in blue.

• Messaging Tweaks v1.4.1: Gotta make sure that :+1: emoji works properly.
• Editable Reblogs v3.0.5: There are two incoming fixes. The first restores the green reblog symbol and the second redirects you back to the blog page you reblogged from.

Week in Review: November 06 - November 13

I know it’s Friday the 13th and all, but I promise you this review won’t have any bad news! (Unless you have a different interpretation of “bad news”, in which case I don’t think there’s anything we can do about that.)

Bug Fixes

• AccessKit v1.1.8: The OpenDyslexic font used to load from the old XKit servers, but gets blocked because of permissions or something. Which is really weird! Now it gets loaded from a super-fast and stable source so that you can get the font you need to read the stuff you want.
  
• Editable Reblogs v3.0.3: Editable Reblogs has been misbehaving recently. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to make sure that your read mores are actually read mores and not horizontal lines, that Editable Reblogs doesn’t flail its arms wildly when it encounters images, that click handler madness doesn’t happen, and that we perform the same logic on links that we do on asks instead of crapping out. Believe me, there’s more disciplining on the way.
• Reblog Display Options v1.1.4: Hotfixes! Hotfixes! Get them right here! Fixed a couple of display issues, like titles on broken posts.
• XKit Updates v2.0.2: Extension. Extensions. Person. People. Goose. Geese. Ox. Oxen. Plankter. Plankton? English is weird, man.
  

New Features

• Messaging Tweaks v1.1.0: As it says on the tin, this provides a variety of tweaks to your messaging experience! You can hide the chat bubbles completely, move your own messages to the right, minimize the chat by clicking on the title, and change the colors to customize your chat to perfection. Now featuring Tumbley the Tumblr! Speaking of which, we don’t have a mascot yet…
• Tweaks v5.1.0: Do you remember when the photo dimensions used to be 500/245/160px? We brought that back for old times’ sake.

Changes in Review

• Editable Reblogs v3.0.4: We’ve heard you loud and clear, so we’re restoring the dropdown buttons so you can schedule your posts. We knew we were releasing something a little broken while we worked on some better stuff, but we underestimated how big of an impact this would have, so we apologize. For the future, we’re considering a beta release channel so you can test the latest and greatest XKit extensions and we can get a wider opinion on upcoming changes.
  
• Messaging Tweaks v1.2.0: Chat notifications! Sound notifications! Desktop notifications! Notificationtarianism!
• Tag Tracking+ v1.6.3: If you ever wanted to have the tag counts and the [new] indicator back in the search bar, this fix has ‘em. This also restores the maximum new posts per tag to 10.
• XWidgets v0.3.1: Tumblr be hidin’ our stuff behind the header! Rude.

Bug Fixes

• Alternative Timestamps v1.1.1: Long descriptions are boring! We’ve shortened the explanation so that you won’t have to spend as much time figuring out whether you want to install this extension. Oh, and we’ve added proper credit to the author of this extension.
• Color Quotes v1.1.0: Color Quotes has been moved to Reblog Display Options. ‘nuff said.
• Classic Search v1.0.4, v1.0.5: If you have a search bar on your blog and you want to do a search, it’ll now point you to the actual tag on Tumblr. Spiffy, huh?
• Edible Reblogs v1.0.4: Unchecking the hell box in the settings will properly close the lid on Panera’s Pandora’s Box.
• One-Click Postage v4.0.8: Auto Tagger used to be naughty and replaced your tags, but now it appends them. Bad Auto Tagger, bad. No treats for you.
• Read Posts v0.2.2: Added proper credit to the author of this extension.
• Shorten Posts v0.2.3: Don’t overlap with blog previews. That would be bad.
• Tag Tracking+ v1.6.0, v1.6.1, v1.6.2: Clicking on the tags now brings you to the proper page, and the tracked tag counts are back. All’s right with the world.

New Features

• Trick or Treat! We updated the XKit icon for Halloween! New XKit: now with 200% more spookiness! (Admittedly, Halloween is over and announcing this change now is a bit weird, but that’s what you get when you write these things afterward.)
  
• No Recommended v2.2.0: If you want to hide recommended schmecommended posts on the Optica theme, now you can.
• Old Sidebar v1.1.0: This is Estufar’s Sidebar Fix renamed and integrated into New XKit! Get the sidebar back. For good.
• PostArchive v1.0.0: A ton of stuff happened here. Like, a lot. For example, we added a link to help import your archive from old XKit, allowed you to import directly from text files that you can drag and drop, added a fortune cookie thing that will tell which numbers to use for the lotter–what? What do you mean we didn’t do that?
• Reblog Display Options v1.0.1, v1.1.0, v1.1.1, v1.1.2, v1.1.3: Good news: Tumblr’s HTML makes slightly more sense now! Bad news: it broke Reblog Display Options. Good news: we’ve fixed Reblog Display Options! More good news: we’ve moved Color Quotes to Reblog Display Options! Bad news: if you were looking forward to bad news, there isn’t any more.
  
• Tweaks v5.0.3: We added an option to restore borders to asks. Now you can be cool and edgy again!

Changes in Review

• Editable Reblogs v3.0.0: We expect this change to fix a majority of the problems you guys are having. Right now, we’re tidying up and putting on the finishing touches. The New XKit developers do their best now and are preparing. Please wait warmly until it is ready!
