Hi! I can't remember if this was Xkit or something else, but I thought I'd bring it up--isn't there a way to make it so that, when you click the name of a blog on your dashboard, it automatically opens in a new tab rather than showing you that dumb sidebar preview thing that tumblr has now? Like I said, I don't remember if this was an Xkit feature. All I know is that I had it once, and now I don't; but in either case, if it ends up on your radar, I'd certainly appreciate it! Thanks!

You’re thinking of the No Sidebar extension.

hey sorry i know you got so many questions coming in. And we appreciate all that you're doing. You're hardcore. But I've become so spoiled with being able to view other people's tags and now I can't. Is there something I can do with the extension in order to view them again? Cheers!

I think someone else had the same issue and fixed it by restarting their browser.  If that doesn’t work, shoot us another ask.

Just so other people are aware, I'm a Chrome user who did not use X-Cloud and none of my settings carried over from my blacklist, post block, archive, quick tags etc.

Thanks for this. It’s beginning to look like Firefox users will keep their settings, and Chrome users won’t. Unfortunately, this isn’t fixable because it depends on the old XKit, not our new version.

So I installed Xkit, and it didn’t show up of my browser. I am using the latest version of Firefox, is there something I should do differently?

At least two people are having this issue, which is sad. But you’re not alone! A good first step for hopefully fixing this is to open the url “about:config”, and click past the scary warning.

Once you’re there, search for xkit7. Then right-click on extensions.xkit7.xkit_installation_complete and extensions.xkit7.xkit_cached_blogs, selecting “Reset”. As a last resort you can also reset extensions.xkit7.xkit_installed_extensions can also be reset. This should trigger XKit’s install dialog once you refresh Tumblr. Let me know if it doesn’t, because that means this problem is more insidious than I thought.

It seems to work after clicking ‘refresh Firefox’ since it removes the data of the previous xKit so it starts all over again. :)
