NEW EXTENSION: EDITABLE REBLOGS

new-xkit-extension

Tumblr made a stupid update, I made an extension to fix it. We’ll need to update a core XKit function before it works for HTML and Markdown users, but it’s a start. The extension should be available momentarily.

This is greatly improved in version 1.0.7. If you don’t have the version we recommend to restart your browser and click the “update extension” button for Editable Reblogs. It still doesn’t support HTML/Markdown as a default editor.

//I have the extension and it does not appear to be working.

We just ironed out a couple things (ending line break, editing/reblogging your own post). What’s broken for you?

I didn't see it in the FAQ, so I wanted to ask... how many people are working on this fork of xkit? Is it just one person, or are there multiple contributors?

new-xkit-extension answered:

Two of us are on this blog, and there’s at least one other regular contributor. We welcome contributions over on github from anyone willing to help. You’ll see us make a lot of “I” statements in posts because we usually work alone on separate projects within XKit.

Any plans on making the list of known issues a set of issues on github? I’m thinking of helping out, but not really sure what a good workflow is here besides “ATTACK EVERYTHING”

xumbra

I second this request. It’s easier to look at a list of issues on Github than look at an infrequently updated list of known bugs or periodically browse the #new xkit, #x kit, and #xkit tags.

We’ve made the issues page here. This is a more streamlined space for alerting us to issues and seeing what needs to be done.

I am SO HAPPY to have this holy shit, thank you so so much for doing this. The only thing is that I just installed everything (and I love it) but on my sidebar it has my tracked tags and all other extensions ABOVE the part that has my url and activity, etc, and I would really prefer to have that on top. Also as I start scrolling the 'make a post' header sticks to the top the page, semi-transparent as it follows me down my dash.

Regarding the header, that’s an option you can turn off in Tweaks.

I moved a bunch of sidebar elements down, and tracked tags now comes with an option to stick it back at the top since I believe someone requested that originally. I probably missed some, so reblog/reply to this post or send an ask if you see something else that needs moving.

xkit new xkit tweaks tags on sidebar a bunch of other crap also that placement might be awkward? I am not aesthetically inclined just better than staff which is what matters lymeandcoconut
